Most non-western cultures have rituals and practices to facilitate the safe passage of departing spirits to the other side after death to ensure that they literally don't hang around the living, draining energy and invisibly influencing us. Celtic wakes for example, and the Tibetan Book of the Dead were both designed for this purpose and to protect the psychic health of the community.
For the most part, however, our culture has few such practices for releasing the dead with the result that many of our energy problems, obsessive issues and persistent complexes often turn out to be old or ancestral spirit energies trying in vain to speak or act through us to resolve unfinished issues not of our, but their making.
In his many years of working in regression therapy and shamanic healing Roger has frequently encountered and removed unwanted and unhappy spirits. Some spirits originally attached to us in childhood, some after a family member's death. Others have been with us for many lifetimes.
In this workshop Roger will share his findings, then demonstrate simple and safe methods to release ancestral and past life spirits. Death, Transition & the Spirit Realms

Dying remains a difficult area for both medical practitioners and families. The spiritual significance of dying has become overshadowed by the mechanical view of our current Western science with its emphasis on the physical process of dying to the neglect of the spiritual. This conference sets out to explore spiritual phenomena which occur at the time of dying and models of the dying process as suggested by the near death experience. The implications of these ideas for mental health will be considered.

The Signs of the Times and the Time of the Heart: History, Karma and Transformation

Roger Woolger is a pioneer in past life regression therapy and a student of world spiritual traditions. In this lecture he looks at how the collective karmas of the West are playing out today in contemporary social and political disturbance. Hindu tradition sees the current Kali Age as one of "impure residues" from previous eras while Jung's observed a destructive collective Shadow among the advanced nations; likewise the prophecies of Hopi, Kogi and other traditional peoples warn us that we are in a time needful of purification and spiritual re-alignment. Dr Woolger proposes three kinds of time: the time of history, with its cycles of change and renewal; the time of the soul, that vast mundus imaginalis known to artists, visionaries and mystics; and the time of the heart, which lies at the spiritual core of all healing and awakening.

In eastern and gnostic traditions the relationship between life and afterlife is seen as an unbroken cycle of "eternal return" in which the soul's evolution is as much vertical as horizontal. Our Western culture has virtually no traditions to assist the souls of the dead or to help us maintain a healthy relationship with them after they are gone. Traditionally this has been the role of the Shaman who can act as a ‘Psychopomp’ and guide these souls safely into the afterlife. Without this help souls can become lost and remain earthbound. Lost souls will remain close to whatever was familiar to them during their life, quite frequently they stay with family members through the generations.

The ancestors that have gone before pass on their legacy to us. Unfortunately sometimes that inheritance consists of obsessive issues and persistent complexes that often turn out to be old or ancestral ‘spirit’ energy complexes trying in vain to speak or act through us to resolve unfinished issues not of our, but their making. In this workshop learn how to identify and heal Ancestral and other human and non-human forms of ‘spirit’ attachment. Learn how to deepen your own and your client’s healing process by clearing obsessive issues, fears, phobias, depressive states and even physical illnesses caused by earthbound ‘spirits’ trying in vain to complete their own unfinished business through the living.
This training teaches a spiritual psychotherapy that is a unique synthesis of Jung, psychodrama, gestalt and shamanic healing. The workshop is highly self-experiential combining lecture, demonstration, supervised work in pairs and group processing.
Please come prepared with information about your family tree (in your head or on paper) going back as many generations as you can identify. Also bring any old photographs or other mementos that will help to focus on the generations past. If you don’t know it already, try to gather information previous to the workshop about members of the family who have passed on, such as, what were their lives like? How did they live and die? How did they fit in /not fit in the family?
